About the Company

We decided to start Nyali Trading Company after several years of traveling and living throughout Africa. We quickly fell in love with not only the countries visited but the beautiful items found in the local markets. Our current suppliers are from Kenya, Tanzania, Guinea-Bissau, and Senegal.

We are proud that Nyali Trading is helping to create work and income for families in Africa and overtime we will be giving back a portion of our proceeds to communities in need. For us it is not just about bringing unique products to you, but also helping to fight hunger and poverty for some of the world's most wonderful people.

Our Photographer

Alexis Sterling's passion for photography began many years ago while living in the beautiful desert of Tucson, Arizona. It is there that she began photographing the stunning sunsets and dramatic scenery and developed her talent for capturing intense color and personality in her photos.

Alexis also shares our immense love for travel and the cultures she learns along the way. Her affection for the people of Africa and the wonderful communities she has visited is what motivated her to take the photos for our website and we are so grateful

Thank you, Alexis!

Our Suppliers.

Kenya

The north coast, where our Sandals are made, boasts a combination of beautiful beaches, friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere.
We have carefully chosen our colors and designs to offer original and fun, yet comfortable sandals.  All of our sandals are cut and beaded entirely by hand.

Tanzania

Mrs. Flotea Massawe developed a keen interest in arts and crafts while still a teenager. For 12 years now she has made an effort to train individuals and groups on how to make her pillows. This in turn has created much needed employment and generated income in her home town of Dar Es Salaam. It is through her initative that she has helped many families overcome social and economic hardships.

 Guinea-Bissau

Ajuda Bajuda is a non-profit organization in Guinea-Bissau which trains local women how to make crafts and then provides an outlet for them to sell these crafts. Guinea-Bissau is the third poorest country in the world and the hardest place on earth to be a mother. The organization also provides small business training and the profits from their sales help to create a savings fund for each of family's future business. Our rings are handmade by local women such as Roberta Indi and Natalia da Silva.
